Orientation Meeting, 28.9.2017

The farewell event for our 2016-2017 SEE class took place on Friday 26/5 at Athens University Museum. It was a wonderful evening under the Acropolis for students and staff. No goodbuys, see you all soon.

PROFESSOR JOVAN TEOKAREVIC, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade gave a guest lecture on “Post-communist politics in the Western Balkans”

Pachalis Kitromilidis, Professor of Political Science, University of Athens, “Nationalism in Southeast Europe: An Overview".

Mr. Yannakis Smilanis (SEE Alumnus, academic year 2010-2011), PhD  candidate of the University of Athens will give a Guest lecture on “The Bulgarian-Macedonian Controversy over the Cultural Legacy of 19th-20th c. Macedonia", 10.00 a.m., 6, Themistocleous str. (1st floor)

Thomas W. Gallant, Professor of Modern Greek History and Archaeology, Universityof California, San Diego, gave a guest lecture on “Greece's Two Fins-de-Siecles” 

Ms Esra Unal (SEE ALUMNUS 2012-2013, Assistant Lawyer, European Court of Human Rights Ph.D. Candidate in International Law (University of Athens and University of Strasbourg), gave a guest lecture on "The Impact of the European Convention on Human Rights on Democratic Change in Central and Eastern Europe"

Dr. Antonis Hadjikyriacou, IMS/FO.R.T.H. and Boğaziçi University gave a guest lecture on “Ottoman rule in the Balkans: from decline to modernisation theory and from centralisation to negotiation”
