A Message from Associate Professor Susannah Verney, the Eurosud Coordinator at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
The Master’s Programme in Southeast European Studies: Politics, History, Economics is proud to have been a partner in the ‘International Master in South European Studies (Eurosud)’.
Eurosud is a two-year Master’s Degree, co-financed by the European Commission under the Erasmus Mundus programme and run by a consortium led by the University of Glasgow. The other partners are the Autonomous University of Madrid, Aix-Marseille University and LLUIS University (Rome) and the University of Lisbon is a Key Associate Partner.
Eurosud has attracted top students from around the world, who have spent three mobility periods at different universities (University of Glasgow + a choice of 2 from Athens, Madrid, Rome and Aix/Marseilles).
During the five years of operation (academic years 2019/20-2023/24), Eurosud in Athens has welcomed 73 students from 38 countries (Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, China, Columbia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine Authority, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, US and Uzbekistan). Each student spent either a semester or a full academic year with us on the SEE Studies Programme.
